The New Moon and Dark Moon are pretty much the same phase happening at almost the same time.

We always see the same side of the moon, because as the moon revolves around the Earth, the moon rotates so that the same side is always facing the Earth. But following the night of each full moon, as the Moon orbits around Earth, we start to see less of the Moon lit by the Sun.
